A Philadelphia native, Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz joined NBC 10 in October of 1995. Since then, Glenn in his signature bow tie and vest, has become one of the Delaware Valley's most charismatic and well-known TV personalities. In 1998, he was voted "one of the 30 greatest Philadelphians of the past 30 years." Glenn earned his B.S. in Meteorology from Penn State in 1972. With almost 30 years of experience as a meteorologist, Glenn has specialized in all types of stormy weather from blizzards to hurricanes and tornadoes.

Jon Nese joined The Franklin Institute in May of 1998 as Chief Meteorologist. He forecasts daily on WHYY FM and appears regularly on WHYY TV's evening newscast. Jon received his Ph.D. from Penn State in 1989 and served as a professor there for nine years. An award winning teacher, Jon also authored a meteorology textbook and numerous articles on weather and climate.

Glenn and Jon met due to a partnership between NBC 10 and The Franklin Institute to provide Weather Workshops at The Franklin Institute. Thousands of Delaware Valley students have participated in these popular and educational programs.

"This book is an everything-you-always-wanted-to-know-about Philadelphia weather book, but it also contains plenty of information that even a weather buff won't know about!" said Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz.

"Glenn and I worked on this book every spare chance we had for the last two years. Our partnership has been so fruitful that I'm considering buying a slew of bow ties," said Jon Nese.
